Job Description
Quality engineer will assist in the development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of a Kelvion’s site Quality Management Systems (QMS) which includes polices, documentation, KPI’s, and customer- specific requirements. Also, to be part of the problem-solving teams. This will include process auditing, product quality objectives and other activities related to the manufacturing process. The goal of this position is to improve the overall quality of product being manufactured.


Responsibilities & Duties


  • Ensure that all the in process and End of the Line testing are in place to validate all products are made currently.
  • Coordinating with Supplier Quality Engineer to deal with all supplier issues that is occurring in production.
  • Coordinate with Design engineering about the new product and new components.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain (local and/or global) & Supplier Quality Engineer on new component supplier qualifications and any new supplier approval.
  • Coordinate with production to preform new product validation run (Pre-Polit, Polit)
  • Questioning the nature of defects while providing future solutions.
  • Initiate different form of Alerts/Notifications when non-conformances are identified.
  • Help maintain the ISO 9001, CRN, ASME cert, PED cert, and UL certs.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Customer / Salesmen on the new product dealing with customer requirements.
  • Participating and coordinating customer site audits.
  • Coordinate with Software engineers to validate any program to run the new product.
  • Maintain the internal Corrective Action process.
  • Launch and manage the New Product / Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and or major change (Design / process) to a product.
  • Coordinating with the Quality Supervisor in handling Customer complaints also managing warranty issues with Customer Service department.
  • Coordinate between engineering and production personnel to solve production quality issues on the production floor.
  • Help create Control plans, PFMEA’s and other inspection documents for validating the product.
  • Ensure all proper documents are in emplace and in the QMS before of the start of production.

Requirements (knowledge, Skills & Abilities)


  • Good Project/Time Management Skills.
  • Perform duties in an assertive, hands-on manner, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
  • Must possess good analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to perform inspections using common measuring equipment and devices, such as gauges, micrometers, and other measure equipment.
  • Must exhibit good interpersonal skills and promote and be a “Team” player.
  • Exhibit good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts or other documents.
  • Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance).
  • Shall possess a basic understanding of statistical concepts.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings and good knowledge of GD&T.
  • Be able to deal with multiple changes and respond quickly to a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to prepare and maintain controlled documents for the QMS.
  • Ability to communicate with oral and written communication effectively with all levels of personnel and management, both internal and external in a manner that creates cooperation and one team mentality.
  • Exposure to a metal fabrication and welding operation is a plus.
  • The ability to be a fast learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to use different tools from the Quality toolbox to solve problems.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required Levels)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Must have three to five (3-5) years of experience in an ISO 9001 or IATAF 16949 manufacturing environment.
