Position Summary
The Clinical Quality Assurance Coordinator will support all practice quality and safety programs. Provide quality improvement facilitation and support for clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate with operational teams and training and development to address the learning needs of clinical staff as it pertains to quality and performance improvement. Support evidence-based practice and nursing education within clinical settings. Participate in monitoring regulatory compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting clinical settings with the development and implementation of improvement strategies. In addition, assist with benchmarking activities through CMS initiatives and practice benchmarks.

Essential Job Functions
- Provide support for the quality and informatics team, including arranging meetings, providing minutes, managing project timelines, and preparing reports.
- Use sound methodology in data analysis, use findings to identify opportunities for re-education in the clinical team workflow, and communicate findings and discussion to operational teams to evaluate outcomes and drive excellence.
- Maintain clinical expertise.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and issues pertaining to GI specialty and facilitate implementation of strategic clinical improvements.
- Participate in the development of presentations and reports.
- Support evidence-based practice by assisting clinical team leads and office mangers in the development of standard operating procedures that are consistent with evidence-based literature, regulatory requirements, and pertinent standards and within each clinician’s scope of practice.
- Train new and current clinical employees on clinical practices and documentation based on practice standard operating procedures and appropriate EMR documentation criteria.
- Complete new and ongoing audits for clinical team members according to established practice metrics.
- Assist in the review and evaluation of occurrences related to patient care reported through portal and/or patient complaints related to care.
- Assist leadership in identifying opportunities to develop performance improvement initiatives and that achieve improved patient outcomes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in the annual evaluation of the quality and performance improvement plan.
- Must follow the organization’s Code of Conduct
- Must participate in the Compliance Program Initiatives and report as needed.
- Facilitate the development and dissemination of clinical knowledge and research that supports coordinated, resource-efficient quality outcomes.

Job Requirements

- Ability to obtain information accurately.

- HIPAA training and compliance experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

Education and Experience
- Previous experience in chart auditing/review in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Active Florida Nursing License preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Nursing.
- 2-3 years Nursing Experience in GI Preferred.
- Previous experience in training EMR Systems to New, Intermediate and Proficient Users in Software preferred. Experience in NextGen Preferred
