FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer digital streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the recently announced AVOD platform FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for 19 consecutive years, while FBN currently ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by FOX Corporation, FOX News Media reaches 200 million people each month.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The position is a full-time role as a Quality Assurance Analyst responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and reliability of our digital properties. You will work closely with other QA Analysts, engineers, product managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high quality products across a variety of business units. You will be part of an agile team where you will test against fully defined requirements, identify project risks, contribute to scoping estimates, engage in release planning, and support large-scale production deployments.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will have a strong background in web testing, content management systems, API testing, analytics testing, ads testing, video stream testing, and analytics validation. You will follow up on issues, create detailed test plans, and improve the QA process within the SDLC. You will report to the Manager of QA and communicate on all aspects of the Fox digital websites and mobile apps.

A SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot outages to support the development team and sign off on hotfixes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to guarantee we are providing the best product
  • Identify and follow up on issues by communicating, tracking, and reporting on all aspects of QA testing
  • Engage in project planning meetings, including providing both high-level and low-level estimates for new features introduced in the roadmap
  • Create reports on testing activities, metrics, and blockers during your day-to-day
  • Identify and document process and workflow improvements for the QA team
  • Collaborate with Frontend/Backend Developers, Product, Design, and Technical Requirements Managers on quality best practices during project planning and E2E testing cycle
  • Take ownership and become the subject-matter expert in all Fox domains, including the Fox News, Fox Business, and Fox Weather websites
  • Support releases and production deployments by running smoke tests and validating features, which may occasionally occur off-hours
  • Routinely contribute to test case documentation and expand our test suite coverage for newly added features and products
  • Work within an Agile environment by participating in standups, sprint plannings, pointing sessions, and retrospectives
  • Lead and participate in hands-on testing for newly spun up projects from the ground up
  • Manually perform regression tests to sign off on pre-production releases
  • Act as point of escalation for all technical features and issues, which includes detailed bug analysis and clarifying expected behaviors
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Experience in a technical QA role across web and mobile platforms
  • Must have prior experience in leading all aspects of QA in a large-scale project from inception to implementation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team player spirit
  • Ability to keep competing projects on track and communicate with multiple stakeholders across many levels
  • Experience in functional and manual testing
  • Knowledge of the digital advertising landscape and components of an ad stack
  • Must have strong understanding of SDLC principles and agile practices
  • Competency in a content management system, such as Wordpress
  • Must have prior experience working with front-end concepts including HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, and JSON
  • Experience writing, maintaining and executing test cases with an automation-first mindset
  • Deep understanding of Web API feeds and endpoints
  • Self-sufficiency and ability to pick up new concepts quickly
  • Expertise in analytics and business intelligence concepts
  • Must have experience with QA testing, tools, and protocols, including Charles Proxy, Chrome DevTools, Postman, JIRA, TestRail and other data QA validation systems
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
  • Experience with Selenium and Pytest frameworks
  • Familiarity with SQL and other database concepts
  • Experience with creating automation tests using Python or Javascript
  • Prior experience working in the news/media industry
