We’re looking to hire a talented QA analyst to help build a highly-reliable media creation platform. This position is a full-time role reporting to the Quality Lead at the Kapwing HQ in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Act as interface between engineering and customer support, and remote QA contractors
• Oversee releases. Work with engineering and support to develop processes and protocols to oversee pre release testing and post release monitoring
• Develop triage and automation scripts: Write scripts to query the database, identify trends, triage issues, and generate reports
• Triage new issues from both internal and external customers and prioritize issues within the sprint structure for resolution.
• Manual testing: Rigorously check that Kapwing is working in production. Investigate bugs to find reproduction steps and assist the Customer Support team to identify technical issues that users run into.
• Support developers writing test plans to QA new features

Requirements

• Strong communication skills: Clear technical writer and strong speaking skills
• No ego: There’s a lot we wish we could do but don’t have time for. Must have the ability to put the product’s needs first
• 2+ years of work experience in a technical or analytical role (experience with quantitative analysis, scripting, QA, engineering, etc)
• Experience in functional end-to-end workflow testing, including test planning and execution
• Passion for serving creative professionals and interest in media
• Entrepreneurial: Excited about joining a small, high-growth team and contributing across all areas of the company
• Creative and organized, with a dedicated customer approach
• Creative thinker: Thinks of many solutions to a problem

Preferred

• Experience with Sentry, Papertrail, and Heroku
• 1+ year of experience with Javascript, Python, HTML, and chrome developer console
• Experience with iOS and Android app testing

Hiring process

Our hiring process is designed for candidates to learn about our company just as much as it is for our team to learn about a candidate. Most candidates will start with a short intro phone call , and depending on the team, a sample project or work-oriented interviews will be scheduled afterwards.
