Microbiology Lab Technician Jobs

Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Location: Piscataway, NJ 08854
Shift: 8AM 3PM
Estimated hours per week: 32, potential for flexibility
Responsibilities
Responsible for performing general microbiological laboratory duties as outlined below:
Prepare microbiological media including QC sterility checks and media qualification testing
Prepare specimens and materials, including cleaning the workspace
Perform microbiological testing of water in accordance with standard procedures, using aseptic technique.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise laboratory records
General housekeeping/upkeep/cleaning of laboratory
Monitor, clean, and perform calibration checks for laboratory equipment and machinery
Dish washing of laboratory glassware
Autoclave waste
Participate in laboratory investigations
Stock laboratory supplies and maintain laboratory inventory
Back up for Lab Analyst with respect to general microbiological duties
Work in a team environment under minimal supervision
Education/Experience
Additional responsibilities as needed
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Microbiology/Biology or working towards said degree, with Microbiology related coursework
Experience in a Microbiology research laboratory or industry Microbiology, preferred
Knowledge of GMP and aseptic techniques preferred
Works well in a team environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Precise, accurate and detail oriented
