You Are

The QA - Automation Engineer's responsibilities include both software development and testing tasks. This position requires advanced programming skills that create automation testing tools and frameworks to assist the manual testing process for production software.

The Opportunity

• Writes detailed test strategies and plans, making full use of different test estimation techniques in assessing the best balance of coverage and efficiency for a project.
• Manually execute testing, if required.
• Ensures requirements traceability in the team and identifies areas for improvement.
• Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with a go-getter attitude.
• Troubleshoots errors found in the test environment with help from Development teams.
• Identifies test approaches, coverage, and requirement gaps and risks.
• Develops, executes, and analyzes the output from scripts that capture application and platform quality metrics.
• Responsible for test creation, testing a large module and/or a large component.
• Design and develop tests, tools, and frameworks to enable the reduction of manual testing.
• Ensures quality measures are included in the initial project design.
• Design and develop UI, integration, regression, performance, and other testing.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

• Skilled in Web Services API testing (SOAP or REST based).
• Knowledge of programming languages like Selenium/Java and process management methodology.
• 4-8 years or more of experience in software automation testing or relevant experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Good understanding of SQL database
• Expertise in test automation with Selenium/Java, Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, GitHub, Visual Studio, and AWS is strongly desired.
• Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.
• Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required.
• A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Management Tools; Jira, Zephyr, Test Rail
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience.  As required by local law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City, or Washington as set forth below.

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for Role

Remote: $71,000-$107,000

Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits. Depending on the role, some associates may also be eligible for stock options.
