Purchasing Representative Jobs

Job Summary:The Buyer/Purchaser will be responsible for effectively working with the US based suppliers, in tight coordination with the supply chain team in India. The position will report to the Manager – Supplier relationships.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA):

• To liaison with, and strengthen, existing relationships with US suppliers / service providers, Identify and develop new supplier / provider relationships, and own the supply chain process in the US.

• Optimize sources, focusing on lowering costs, improving lead times, obtaining most favorable terms and conditions, and fully compliant with specifications and standards.

• Work with suppliers for long term Indefinite deliveries and indefinite quantities (IDIQ) based strategic agreements / contracts, adopting Economic order quantity (EOQ) procurement and elimination of Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ). Integrate tactical measures into sourcing and procurement.

• Own purchase contracts. Work with legal counsels to ratify agreements prior to signing off.

• Own the associated logistics and warehousing activities.

• Ensure pristine upkeep of material related data, in quick books, for financial statements and statutory compliance.

• Ensure adherence to certified processes and procedures, maintain clean audit records.

• Provide MIS reports and other management related data to key stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have at least 4 years in supply chain / sourcing / procurement within the A&D industry, specifically for electrical components such as wiring, connectors, relays, solenoids, lights, switches, electro-mechanical parts, etc.
• Demonstrate negotiation techniques, practical purchasing skills, including volume consolidation, Incoterms, Claims under warranties, RMA handling, termination liabilities, and cost recovery under contractual liabilities.
• Be familiar with contractual requirements in A&D domain like part nomenclature, specs, equivalents, alternates, licensing requirements such as ITAR / EAR.
• Must be familiar with various Original Component Manufacturers (OCM’s), Authorized distributors, independent distributors, be hands-on, with necessary skills and adaptability in software applications such as Quick books, expertise in Microsoft office tools, and basic inventory management skills.
• Be familiar with procurement advisories, procurement analytics, supply base optimization and total acquisition cost analysis.
