Job Description

Role Summary: Manage the sourcing of indirect materials and services for all of U.S. Pipe. Support new indirect program introductions, evaluate the supply base, and implement strategic initiatives that deliver value through cost avoidances/savings, process improvements, supplier innovation, and supplier management, to create overall synergies while meeting internal customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality for internal customers.

· Build relationships with key stakeholders to gather category requirements and specifications from departments and category subject matter experts.

· Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures.

· Research vendors to determine the best options and make recommendations by evaluating total cost and quality of indirect materials and services.

· Identify and leverage company-wide spend opportunities.

· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories.

· Negotiate long term and blanket contracts for indirect materials and services.

· Source suppliers, develop suppliers, and build mutual beneficial relationships with suppliers.

· Develop strategic sourcing/purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business.

· Find creative cost-outs in purchasing policies and with vendor processes.

· Develop implementation strategy, responsibility assignments, communication plans, and timelines.

· Ensure tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs; work closely with operations and finance to ensure adherence to the use of strategic sources.

· Provide direction and support to teams for initiatives critical to the business.

· Conduct thorough spend analysis, develop methodology and metrics tools to track progress.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Able to balance strong negotiation skills and shareholder needs to develop relationships with our key suppliers.

· Understands who the internal customers are, how they are motivated and the current and future business challenges they face.

· Demonstrates a strong bias toward service, quality, and customer satisfaction.

· Strong analytical and Excel skills; overall Microsoft Office software proficiency.

· Experience with systems and proficient at extracting data; MaintainX experience a plus.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

· Must be well organized with demonstrated problem solving skills and ability.



Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance or another related field is required.

· Minimum of eight (8) years of indirect purchasing experience, and three (3) years of managerial experience, including at least five (5) years of multisite sourcing experience.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

· The employee will be working in an office environment, infrequent business travel required. The employee will also be exposed occasionally to plant facilities and yards (heat, cold, noise, dust, and machinery).
