Kent County Health Department is currently seeking a full-time Public Health Nurse. The successful candidate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing home and virtual visits to pregnant women and infants. This individual will be responsible for completing a comprehensive assessment of service needs to develop a plan of care for clients, determining appropriate referrals for families and follow-up to evaluate effectiveness of services. Duties will also include documentation according to program guidelines.
2023 Starting Wages:
$28.19 - A Step: Associate Degree in Nursing with 36 months or less experience as a Registered Nurse.
$29.23 - B Step: Associate Degree in Nursing with 37 months to 60 months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
$30.52 - C Step: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 36 months or less of experience as a Registered Nurse; or Associate Degree in Nursing with 61 months or more of experience as a Registered Nurse.
$31.52 - D Step: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 37 months or more experience as a Registered Nurse.
Graduation from a National League of Nursing accredited nursing institution and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Experience working with maternal, infant and child populations desired. Computer literacy, including working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database management required. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to be highly efficient while ensuring attention to detail is required. Must interact positively and professionally with internal and external customers, and members of the general public from widely divergent cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to provide client service from a culturally aware and client driven perspective and deliver excellent customer service to all clients while following HIPAA guidelines is essential. Must be able to provide services to clients in a variety of County locations and possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and have access to regular transportation.
