Provider Outreach and Training Coordinator

Position Overview


The Provider Relations and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building and executing the training curriculum for providers in addition to being the main point of contact for any provider related inquiries not considered to be standard interactions with operational and call center units. This position is critical to introducing providers to Acentra's system and policies. The individual within this role will have regular communication with providers via multiple mediums. Training providers on our system and educating on critical submission policies are central to the role. This includes being responsible for training activities and available for technical assistance. health plans, paid time off, retirement savings, corporate wellness, educational assistance, corporate discounts and more.


Please note: Must reside in the beautiful State of Virginia. This position is remote; however, it may require occasional travel to our Richmond, VA office a few times a month for essential meetings and collaboration with Senior Leaders and Clients. Role Responsibilities


In this role, you will


  • Outreach and Education: Your passion for sharing knowledge will shine as you plan, develop, and facilitate engaging outreach and education programs for providers and stakeholders. Be a part of our innovative approach by hosting on-demand webcasts to keep everyone informed.
  • Versatile Support: As a valued member of our team, you'll cross-train and perform duties across various contracts within Acentra. Your adaptability will provide a flexible workforce, catering to client and customer needs effectively.
  • Stellar and Engaging Communication: Exceptional written and facilitation skills, combined with outstanding customer service, will be essential in this role. Be a strong team player, fostering a collaborative environment. With your guidance, we'll strengthen vital connections within our healthcare community.
  • Collaborative Coordination: Collaborate with different providers, including Long-Term Care/institutional facilities, physician offices, and DME providers. Your coordination skills will be crucial in facilitating seamless healthcare delivery.
  • Facilitate Prior Authorization: You'll be the go-to expert in resolving prior authorization issues, contacting providers to provide essential forms and prior authorization policies. Your coordination skills will ensure that recipients receive the necessary items and services covered by Medicaid promptly.


The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties that management may deem necessary from time to time.


Required Qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in a Human Service field.
  • Healthcare Expertise: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Healthcare environment, preferably in hospital, outpatient, managed care/utilization management, Care Management, or LTC environment.
  • Training Guru: Demonstrated expertise with at least 2 years of preparing and delivering informational and instructional programs for adults.
  • Government Programs Savvy: Experience with State Medicaid or other state government programs will give you a head start in this role.

  • Education Enthusiast: A passion for education and an understanding of curriculum development, course planning, and effective use of technological education tools and audio/visual equipment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office is a must, and the capability to navigate through multiple screens is essential. Additionally, being open to learning and mastering new educational software will be a big advantage.
  • Sense of Urgency: Your drive to meet deadlines and deliver quality results will make you a vital member of our team.
  • Grace Under Pressure: Handle multiple and changing priorities with ease, even when deadlines may conflict. Your ability to stay composed under pressure will be an asset in our fast-paced environment.
