Job Responsibilities & Tasks
As a Project Surveyor, you'll be an integral part of our talented team, undertaking a variety of exciting responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with a Professional Land Surveyor to execute projects seamlessly.
Conduct comprehensive property research, including deeds, easements, regulations, and zoning data.
Conduct field surveys as a 1-person crew or as part of a 2-person crew.
Gather, record, and process survey data with precision and accuracy.
Prepare detailed CAD plans for a range of projects, including topographic, boundary, ALTA, and Land Court plans.
Assist in the training and development of fellow surveyors, offering valuable feedback and support.
Required Skills
We're seeking candidates who possess the following skills:
Solid experience with land surveying processes and total stations.
Proficiency in working with RTK GPS equipment and data collectors.
Strong mathematical skills to ensure accurate calculations.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D 2021, Leica Captivate, or similar software such as Carlson Survey.
Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
Excellent organization and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Required Experience/Licensure
1-2 years of total surveying experience, combining field and office work.
Previous experience in project or staff management is advantageous.
Exposure to topographic and boundary surveys is essential, while experience with infrastructure and MassDOT work is a plus.
Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) certification in Massachusetts or a commitment to obtaining it within 12 months is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about becoming a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is preferred. Candidates with significant experience will also be considered.
