Job Description
The Project Procurement Manager position is a direct-hire role providing supporting to a specialty chemical manufacturer in the Riceboro, GA. area.


The Project Procurement Manager independently coordinates and manages project material management requirements, purchases materials, equipment services and labor at competitive prices and terms as required by project.


Project Procurement Manager Job Responsibilities


  • Assists with vendor qualification and development of an Approved Manufacturer’s Equipment List (AMEL).
  • Manages or examines RFQ to determine that correct specifications, quantities, authorizations, terms and support documentation are included.
  • Uses time efficiently.
  • Manages or analyzes vendor quotes to identify those meeting all criteria, and subsequently negotiates, or assists with negotiation of, final terms and conditions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of company material management, ISO requirements, and client requirements.
  • Manages or develop and implement innovations in coordinating project needs and schedules to improve timeliness, accuracy, and completeness and to reduce costs.
  • Establishes progress milestones for projects.
  • Manages or expedites, develops cost information, attends project planning meetings, and visits vendor facilities.
  • Manages all aspects of purchasing for small and large projects.
  • Manages or develops subcontractor sources and negotiate subcontracts for project installations.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of progress.
  • Quality assurance for personal work assignments.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of project operations, engineering, and material management. Knowledgeable in multiple disciplines.
  • Manages or issues purchase orders/contracts.
  • May supervise lower-level project purchasing staff.
  • Manages or processes and understands material lists and bills of material for complicated engineering projects based on available data from engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, data sheets or verbal information using established processes.
  • Establishes man-hour budgets for projects.
  • Manages or compile and release Request for Quotation (RFQ).
  • Able to accurately describe scope and estimate cost (time required) for personal work.
  • Supports field assignments as required.
  • Manages or troubleshoots the more difficult problems associated with project material management.


Qualifications


Project Procurement Manager Job Requirements:


  • Business management skills including ability to develop & implement strategy, to monitor budgets, and to manage costs and resources.
  • Procurement Manager must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide effective feedback and coaching, with the aptitude to influence both internally and externally with suppliers, internal customers and peers.
  • Bachelors Degree degree in Business Studies, Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of computer based purchasing and inventory systems, including interfaces with other functional applications such as A/P, project and job costing, planning and forecasting.
  • Candidates must be able to commute to the Riceboro, GA. area on a daily basis.
  • Should have a minimum 15 years in project execution experience or related field with a minimum of 10-12 years in material management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a broad understanding of the marketplace for the portfolio of goods managed, as well as e-Sourcing tools and vendors.
  • Solid understanding of purchasing function, contract language & design and terms & conditions.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
