WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview)


This position plays a critical role on the Real Estate Strategic Planning team for the American Red Cross. It requires a professional with outstanding judgment, leadership, organization, coordination, and interpersonal skills to support key activities associated with real estate strategic planning. This position gathers, analyzes, coordinates, manages, and reports on activities associated with real estate strategies. Working at the direction of the Executive Director, this position manages the development of real estate strategies and implementation oversite.


A key component of this position’s responsibilities is to manage strategies in varying complexity and size while working with leadership from the lines of business and the various real estate functions through all phases including concept, development, implementation, and outcomes. It ensures that the project plan, scope, schedule, risk, budget, and deliverables are in alignment with the stated project goal and objectives. An ability to manage the interfaces between lines of business, real estate, finance, and risk is integral to this position.


The position involves managing the data, systems, and processes from multiple sources to maintain integrity of the information being used to set, track, and decide on projects. Analyzing the data from multiple sources to develop real estate strategies and present said strategies to line of business and Real Estate leadership is important to this position. The ideal candidate must have a strong project management background as well as possess strong financial and analytical skills. The ability to work independently and develop stakeholder relationships while maintaining confidentiality is also critical.


This position will work across real estate transactions and construction project management to ensure timely submittal of business cases as well as to set, track and decide on projects related to specific regions overall real estate strategy. This portfolio is over 11 million square feet and spans over 1,200 sites in the United States and its territories.


Key Duties


WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):


  • Leads, drives and is accountable for all aspects of the strategy to ensure a successful project completion that meets the LOB requirements
  • Coordinates, manages, and directs the development, approval, and implementation of real estate strategies to ensure consistent alignment while meeting stakeholder expectations and strategic objectives
  • Gather data from numerous sources develops business case PowerPoint presentation and receives approval to move forward with individual projects that were previously decisioned from the regions strategic plan
  • Drives accountability to ensure successful project completion within schedule and budget
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provides on-going guidance and oversight during execution to ensure results meet business case parameters
  • Manages cross-functional relationships across the enterprise to ensure real estate strategies and projects meet organizational and business objectives
  • Maintains RES databases and reports on portfolio and project performance, status, timeliness of execution and budget to actual
  • Assesses and mitigates project issues, interdependencies, risks, and financials and escalates as appropriate
  • Gather the business requirements and to assess feasible options and conducts analysis to summarize functional team inputs
  • Managing the project life cycle


WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications)


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Project Management, Finance or Real Estate, equivalent work experience may be sufficient
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building, collaboration and facilitation skills and manage relationships effectively
  • Strong analytical skills in financial analysis and business case development
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information in a concise and relevant terms for business decisions
  • Minimal 7 years relevant work experience in Real Estate project management, PMP Certification preferred
  • Exceptional problem-solving, time management and analytical skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and preferred Real Estate Portfolio and Projects Systems (CoStar System), demonstrated ease with systems, process, and data management
  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects cross-functionally

The salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $110,000
