Project Manager/Senior Management Analyst (Staff Support)(0013)
OCT Consulting LLC is a boutique management consulting company that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.
Summary
NOTE: This position is NOT related to IT or software project management. We currently have an opening for a Project Manager/Senior Management Analyst to support a government client’s Front Office business processes and program management activities for the procurement line of business. Responsibilities and duties include providing oversight of a team of five (5) working across a wide range of taskers including audit inquiries from OIG, GAO, and SIGAR, congressional inquiries/taskers, media inquiries, press releases, regulatory amendments, RFI/data calls, industry engagements, briefing, and decision materials, and obtaining required clearance before submission of materials. The position is primarily remote but may require occasional visits (once per week is eventually anticipated) to the federal client site in Rosslyn, VA.
Essential Functions
  • Reviews, analyzes, and screens incoming correspondence; prepares/oversees the preparation of task assignments to route correspondence to appropriate staff members/offices; monitors status and obtains clearance to prepare a final approved package while ensuring quality assurance on all deliverables; the incumbent is a functional manager, responsible for completion of assignments and not solely responsible for the management of the team
  • Attends customer meetings with internal and external stakeholders and serves as primary liaison for the Front Office
  • The incumbent reports to the COR and Deputy Chief of Staff and leads a wide range of taskers, clearance items, and special initiative projects, and keeps the customers updated on all ongoing activities
Requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of excellence
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and flexibility in supporting emergent requirements
  • Strong coordination and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in support of senior government stakeholders
  • Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility is supporting after normal working hours may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance; the investigation will involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check
  • Experience in overseeing various tasks of a highly complex nature, assigning tasks to appropriate personnel/offices and tracking document flow and clearance processes without supervision; exposure to congressional correspondence preferred
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to regularly work under pressure; consistent ability to maintain awareness, demonstrate initiative, and seek to meet the customer needs without being prompted
  • Experience leading/managing a team supporting multiple workstreams (minimum of 8 years of experience preferred)
  • Responds effectively to changes in situation or information and shows initiative by proactively looking for opportunities to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customer and contractor support team
  • Project Management Professional Certification, or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Broad acquisition/procurement exposure in the federal government space is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering against deadlines
