Job Description

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be a vital part of our journey and play a crucial role in driving our mission forward by managing activities for major client projects and programs and Torch.AI platform implementations. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating between our sales, engineering, and leadership teams to facilitate client discovery and planning, coordinate client kick-offs, conduct resource management, and assist in driving forward platform implementations, all while ensuring timely delivery of client requirements. This position requires excellent communication skills, an ability to understand and translate technical requirements and client milestones, a strong ability to manage up to senior leaders, across teams of peers, and direct clients, and a keen eye for detail to ensure project and program goals are met on time and within budget. While this role is primarily internal facing, there may an opportunity to grow into a larger program management role as the business grows. This may include business development, program sustainment, and overall program / relationship management for large federal government agency programs and initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential risks, issues, or bottlenecks in the project schedule and devise contingency plans.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner and clear fashion.
  • Ensure the delivered solution meets the clients' requirements and adheres to our high standards of quality.
  • Directs, administers, and evaluates project/program policies and procedures, as needed
  • Analyzes complex business problems, gathering and documenting business and technical requirements and maintain production system documentation.
  • Coordinate with sales and engineering teams in support of all aspects of client engagements, from deal close to resource planning and requirements definition to software implementation and management of client milestones; streamline process to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Translate client requirements into actionable tasks for the engineering team; participate in client meetings and discussions, as needed.
  • Establishes strong partnerships with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Establish, document, and manage project/program scope, schedule, resource allocation, cost, and expense tracking for projects and sustaining activities to ensure successful project execution and that deliverable deadlines are met.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, roadmaps, and schedules to monitor and track progress.
  • Prepare and present written communications, plans, reports, briefings, and background materials for the executive management teams; keep all stakeholders informed of progress and risks/issues.
  • Introduce and leverage industry best-practices for project management activities and processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through full project lifecycles, from initial conception to final configuration and implementation.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of key goals, objectives, and success criteria for the program. Ensures proper documentation.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, solve them quickly and well, and know when to rely on internal resources to assist.
  • Conflict resolution skills, including the ability to resolve disputes, disagreements, and conflicts while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or similar role in a tech startup environment.
  • Ability to obtain a federal government security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) is a plus.
  • Experience with federal government projects/programs is a plus.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams of peers and senior leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage resources effectively.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
