The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is currently seeking a full-time Project Manager.


Position Summary


While the Project Manager’s primary initial role will be to lead the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General’s selection and acquisition of a case management system, this person will also be expected to oversee to projects of different types and sizes.


The Project Manager will craft and deliver technology-enabled solutions via projects that are well defined, well structured, and adhere to best practices. Successful candidates conduct their work with high levels of professionalism, quality, diligence, and adaptability. This role does not directly manage team members, but will be expected to work collaboratively with attorneys, agents, and other Office of the Attorney General staff to determine and meet the needs of the office.


Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:


  • Encourage and maintain a ‘best practice sharing culture’
  • Continuously monitor projects for potential risks and seeks to proactively keep all teams aligned via structured project management and status reporting to stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective mediation of team conflicts
  • Create documents like project plans, detailed requirements, budgets, business process design, test cases, and deployment plans
  • When appropriate, conduct postmortem and root cause analysis to help project teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity
  • Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep operations moving while the project is implemented
  • Communicate effectively with different levels of leadership within the organization
  • Facilitate regular status (stand-up), planning, execution, and retrospective review meetings
  • Proactively identify and eliminate impediments and facilitate project flow
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and have effective communication skills
  • Deliver solutions via projects that are on time, on budget, and in scope
  • Collaborate with relevant key stakeholders and dotted line reports to the First Assistant Attorney General to ensure that technology, business, and legal requirements remain in sync
  • Analyze business requirements documents and project timelines
  • Interact with other state agencies and project managers to ensure inter-agency dependencies are addressed
  • Guiding team in determining, describing, and addressing requirements
  • Manage the day-to-day progress of the project(s)
  • Prepare high-level project reports for senior management, when appropriate
  • Track the project budget and project plan


Occasional travel may be required.


Qualifications


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Experience creating detailed requirements, including acceptance criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in coordinating or managing projects of various sizes, complexity, and type
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (such as business or, criminal justice) preferred
