Project Manager Jobs

Boston Metal is commercializing a cutting-edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production by improving metal quality while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact. This growing, fast-paced startup company is looking for a Project Manager to directly manage various capital projects focused on expanding our engineering and R&D efforts. This position reports directly to the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager and will closely collaborate across other teams.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the PMO Manager to establish, disseminate and uphold existing and new process standards and project management best practices.
• Work closely with managers and members of the engineering and operations teams to track project progress, identify and escalate risks, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Create and manage schedules and budgets for several projects.
• Proactively identify and resolve problems impacting projects.

Qualifications:

• Min. 3 years of project management experience is required (experience in a PMO is a plus)
• Proven ability to have a proactive attitude to identify and solve problems
• PMP certification is highly preferred
• Proficient experience using Microsoft Project is required
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or management (advanced degree is a plus)
• Professional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are vital, including presentation and public speaking skills
• Experience with agile management is a plus
• Experience leading or coordinating projects involving cross-functional groups is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience writing reports and formal communication with senior leadership is highly preferred

You will be working in a small team environment where teamwork and good relationships with other team members is critical. We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
