Job Title: IT Project Manager

Department: Information Technology

FLSA: Exempt

General Function:

The Project Manager role is focused on planning, delivery and execution of key business initiatives through aligning efforts across various engineering teams and subject matters.

Primary Duties and Responsibility:

  • Own the overall success of a project through planning, organizing and managing a cross-functional team of contributors and leaders within the boundaries of the scope, budget and timeline set forth and agreed upon by the business and sponsor.
  • Source the capabilities, skills, and technology necessary to meet project requirements through influence and resourcefulness, leaning on leadership and sponsors to secure.
  • Apply analytical skills and process improvement techniques to facilitate business decisions.
  • Manage the day-to-day progress and execution of work throughout the project life cycle. Includes creating and upkeeping a project plan, coordinating tasks across the organization and focusing on feature delivery.
  • Initaite and lead planning activities throughout the project life cycle from definition through delivery.
  • Provide leadership to project resources in a manner that ensures timely delivery on commitments/tasks in support of broader project deliverables.
  • Surface business objectives, identify desired outcomes, outline key results and establish/monitor KPIs to show progress and measure the value of delivery.
  • Consistently and proactively communicate with the sponsor, stakeholders and project team on project progress and health.
  • Monitor, track, and maintain program deliverables, milestones, key dependencies, among other project specific activities.
  • Assist in PI planning to ensure dependencies, work, risks and issues are identified, communicated and visualized across teams.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues and actively lead the resolution of these throughout the project.
  • Large focus on technical implementations but is aware of the big picture goal and able to communicate needs and risks across business, project and technical teams to ensure success.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
  • Attends and is prepared to participate in department and company meetings.

Education and Experience

High School or equivalent experience. Over one year up to three years of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Laptop and desktop computer, telephone, copier, Fax, printer, PC with Microsoft Office programs and other software relevant to specific position.

Contacts:

Has frequent contact with office personnel in other departments related to the position as well as occasional contact with users and customers.
