Project Manager, High Performance Buildings

The Project Manager, High Performance Buildings supports and manages projects to deliver Elevate’s breadth of energy, water, resiliency, and green building certification services to affordable multifamily housing owners and nonprofit organizations pursuing retrofits, moderate/substantial rehabs, and new construction. The Project Manager, High Performance Building Services collaborates across the organization with all departments as well as with key partner organizations. The position supports projects nationally, with the majority of projects in Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin.


The Project Manager, High Performance Building reports to the Director, High Performance Buildings. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois and is currently remote.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across teams and with partner organizations on projects and support client delivery of programs.
  • Communicate regular project/program updates and results to internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Support development of proposals for high performance building services.
  • Review project documents to confirm compliance and remain up to date with certification requirements.
  • Support the delivery of additional high performance building services including decarbonization building assessments, energy and water benchmarking, energy modeling and other relevant work to improve the efficiency, resilience, and durability of affordable housing, nonprofit commercial buildings, and sustainable communities.
  • Connect partner organizations and clients with expertise and resources from across Elevate, such as multi-family, nonprofit, solar, and other utility-funded programs.
  • Represent Elevate with external clients to provide superior customer service and delivery of projects
  • Manage utility data analysis and benchmarking for high performance buildings services.
  • Perform other duties as as assigned.
  • Oversee green building certifications (EGC, NGBH, WGBH), collaborating with the Engineering team to develop and deliver work products, leading internal and external team member coordination and communication, and tracking schedules and budgets.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to engage with clients, partner organizations, stakeholders, and industry partners
  • Bachelor’s degree required and two (2) years of relevant experience in building science, energy and water efficiency, utility programs, or other related work, or four (4) years of industry experience
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Experience with Excel
  • Strong focus on quality and customer service
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in and knowledge of multi-family and nonprofit commercial buildings and their energy and water building systems
  • Experience or interest in benchmarking or utility data analysis
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as facilitate collaboration and motivate others
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills


Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience.
