Job Description
The Packaging Team strategy is to deliver a menu that arrives remarkably wherever our Guest may be. Our team collaborates with Operators, Team Members, Guests, and internal stakeholders. The Packaging department is one of several sub-teams of the Restaurant Experience group, which is a sub-department of the Marketing department.
Project Lead role for Packaging Compliance is focused on the Validate and Launch phases of our Innovation Process for compliant/alternative packaging items. This role is centered on helping drive excellence in specifying, testing/validating, and launching projects, on-time, and on budget. This resource should have background in packaging development process, and will need to be skilled in project management, specifically project plan tools and cross functional collaboration. He or she is highly collaborative and has experience leading internal teams and external support staff toward a shared vision of success. They will also be the key point of contact for Operators during Unitization/Market Testing, and Launch.
While this resource will be leading Validate and Launch phases for all compliant packaging development projects, He/She will work closely with the Platform Lead for Compliance and Category Lead, supporting project plan management and best practices since the Understand/Imagine phases, overseeing proper alignment, budget tracking and timeline management.
In addition, this resource will also lead the development and maintenance of proper databases and systems that track critical information for packaging compliance, such as legislation, packaging requirements, certifications, adoption of compliant packaging and cost trends, among other related facts. These insights will be critical to coordinate and align cross-functional partners on compliance priorities, while ensuring a wide-compliant packaging portfolio for the future.
The Project Lead for Compliance will collaborate with CFA's Legal, Supply Chain and Sustainability teams in Compliance tracking, and be the key contact for Operators and Business Consultants when facing packaging legislation and portfolio changes. He/She will coordinate communications about packaging compliance that may include supply chain information and affected procedures, among other details.
Responsibilities
Project level responsibilities include:
  • Understands and tracks key actions/issue to problem solve for timely resolution and project success
  • Liaises with suppliers and third-party partners to deliver business objectives/commitments, on time and on budget
  • Develop & present project recommendations to leadership and cross functional teams for testing & launch activities
  • Organize, coordinate, and lead various project testing/launch plans, collaborating with cross functional teams, to validate product approval
  • Gather and synthesis Restaurant & Consumers feedback on packaging performance to drive project outcomes
  • Provides deep level of field/project and process knowledge to influence & drive decision making across key milestones
  • Develops overall project timelines and expectations, leading stakeholders towards unified project goals
Compliance Level Responsibilities Include
  • Development of systems/databases to store and sync data across restaurant compliance requirements and packaging usage to identify gaps / risks
  • Tracking restaurant legal requirements and associated packaging needs
  • Supporting roadmap development of all compliance related projects - providing visibility across packaging team and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring proper compliance certifications and identifying ways to track certification expiry dates
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated and or certified project management skillset. Strong process experience
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment within a team approach to accomplishing objectives
  • Comfortable and confident presenting recommendations and answering questions to multiple levels of leadership
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively as well as independently
  • Ability to build effective relationships and strategic alignment with internal CFA partners, Operators, design consultants and vendors
