Summary:
Summit Ridge Energy (“SRE”) is seeking a Director of Project Closings to expand our Corporate Operations team. This role will interface internally across Summit Ridge Energy’s functional teams to forecast, vet, and ensure projects are prepared to meet key milestones for transaction closings. The Director will also hold weekly meetings with key external partners across construction lending, cash equity, tax equity, and permanent lending firms to review project status, respond to due diligence questions, and coordinate funding events. This role requires a multifaceted employee who is seeking to engage across origination, development, construction, asset management, legal, and project finance practices to ensure projects achieve core funding milestones efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:
- Interface with investors and lenders to support their diligence and underwriting of investments into the company’s portfolio of solar and energy storage projects, including development and construction debt, joint venture equity, and tax equity investments
- Attend and/or lead financial closing meetings on a weekly basis
- Work with key stakeholders to identify critical path items which may inhibit projects from achieving key financing milestones and help to drive a resolution and/or mitigation plan to ensure corporate forecasts are achieved
- Manage transaction execution and financial closing process for multiple projects at various stages of the development pipeline
- Implement and follow key project management practices to ensure teams, data rooms, and closing checklists are properly coordinated across both internal and external partners to ensure reporting is prepared for senior leadership
- Coordinate with business units across the project lifecycle (origination, development, construction, finance, legal) to ensure internal processes conform to project closing requirements and schedules
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, energy, sustainability, engineering, or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal communications skills
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills with an ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Ability to clearly communicate development, legal & financing sensitivities to internal functional managers, senior management, and external financing partners
- 4-8 years of experience with renewable energy project finance at a developer, investor, law firm, or financial institution
- Strong project management skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Applied working knowledge of finance, accounting, commercial, engineering, and legal aspects of renewable energy project development and financing
- Ability to embrace innovation and change, and belief that there is always room for improvement.
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Microsoft Office proficiency; programming knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
