Position Description


The program manager for academic affairs assists the vice president for academic affairs with the development and maintenance of academic program policies and procedures through research, consultation with relevant resources and stakeholders, the preparation of related documents, and the development of agendas and presentations for the TTUHSC El Paso Academic Council. This program manager will also collaborate on institutional effectiveness-related projects and other academically-related initiatives as assigned.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Collaborate on institutional effectiveness-related projects and other academically-related initiatives as assigned.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by the vice president for academic affairs. (including management of some regulatory and policy-based aspects of the office's webpages).
  • Develop agendas, and related materials and presentations, for the TTUHSC El Paso Academic Council (in coordination with the general administrative and logistical support provided by the vice president’s executive assistant).
  • Represent the vice president for academic affairs in meetings, and in working groups, and committees as assigned – preparing notes/summaries as indicated.
  • Collaborate with the executive associate to maintain accurate and efficient file/document management and sharing systems for the TTUHSC El Paso Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and administrative maintenance of academic program policies and procedures through research, consultation with relevant resources and stakeholders, the preparation of related documents (reports, presentations, drafts, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications


  • General knowledge of higher education administration and its legal and regulatory framework.
  • Ability to systematically investigate and report on topics relating to higher education law, policies, and accreditation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to promote and maintain collegial relationships and work as part of an administrative team.
  • Operational knowledge of informational technology-based academic enterprise management systems (such as Banner), curriculum/learning management systems (such as Canvas), and related academic technology applications.
