Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
This position provides advanced direction and planning of programs and services for the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). This position supervises staff that directly support assigned activities, and coordinates the work of other staff that implement programs and services for University faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants, and serves as a senior-level resource for best practices and current trends in teaching applications and faculty development in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 1 year related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and 3 years relevant program experience, and 1 year of university-level teaching experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of the University’s mission and organizational structure and knowledge of CTE mission and strategic plan. Familiarity with pedagogical theory and practice. Understanding of basic organizational and management principles and project management methods. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Excellent written and communication skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions. Must be confident as well as conscientious and personable.
