Job Description
The Agency's mission is to be boldly innovative in improving the health and quality of life for South Carolinians.

This is position is located in the Office of Chief of Staff , Richland County.

Are you the One? We are looking for an Internship Coordinator who will work to ensure the agency's internship program runs efficiently. Coordinator will assist in the implementation of the program and help in assigning interns to various departments. They will work closely with site supervisors. This position will also assist them in connecting the Agency with educational institutions. This position must be able to work effectively as a member of a team, be able to provide valuable feedback, and think critically.
  • Assist staff with internal requests for interns or related requests. Assist in training and orientation for incoming interns. Review training materials for staff and interns to ensure they are up-to-date and address areas of concern. Work to maintain the documentation system for the interns throughout their internships.
  • Work with staff to compile evaluations on internships after the completion of each intern cycle. Review evaluations and recommend program improvements to leadership. Assist in making sure that SCDHHS stays in line with current trends and best practices. Work with the internship director to expand the program. Help in ensuring consistency and standardization among all SCDHHS internships.
  • Assist in the application process for the internships. Work with SCDHHS staff in each of the program areas to provide a seamless transition from interview to placement.
  • Attends and participates in relevant opportunities for professional development and training. Demonstrates utilization and application of new skills learned to improve effectiveness and efficiency within assigned responsibilities.
  • Work with staff to improve the marketing and recruitment strategy. Attend educational events, determined by your supervisor, to promote and recruit for the internship program. Create and maintain relationships with assigned educational institutions throughout South Carolina and neighboring states.

A bachelor's degree and relevant professional experience in social service programs, business administration, general administrative management or relevant program experience.

  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.
  • Requires holder to drive routinely.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
