Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a management analyst to plan, direct, organize management services/tasks to nuclear weapon systems and organizational planning. Plans, organizes, and directs special projects, processes, procedures for the Directorate. Responsibilities

  • Documents decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force and Air Force Materiel Command requirements.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of analytical qualitative and/or quantitative methods and techniques to participate in assessment and improvement of acquisition plans and programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.   • Actively participates in the strategic planning processes to improve organizational directions and focus using qualitative and/or quantitative methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the various Center entities involved in overall planning and execution of operations and evaluations.
  • Evaluates and recommends programs and processes to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  • Ability to plan, and organize, and develop studies or projects, making recommendations on substantive operating programs, where proposals may involve substantial resources and may require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
  • Analyzes and evaluates issues, develops recommendations to resolve substantive problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in AFNWC programs
  • Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and preparing solutions to resolve substantive problems.
  • Knowledge of the Air Force and AFMC programs goals and objectives; the sequence and aiming of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related actual events; and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
  • Interfaces directly with other staff and Wing representatives of the Center programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Management and Program Analysis Series 0343, Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning, organizing, and developing studies or special projects, and to negotiate effectively with management; knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of acquisition plans and programs. Plan, organize highly complex, sensitive, broad scale actions and projects associated with the nuclear weapons mission. Determine methods, activities or courses of action and establishes metric and analysis systems to support Directorate programs to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with capabilities based planning procedures.
