Job Summary
The Department of English at Columbus State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of English specializing in Basic Writing and Composition and Rhetoric. This position is available August 2023.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach courses in first year composition, basic writing, advanced writing, and composition theory. The Department of English has identified the following areas for additional growth: Print and Digital Media, Content Creation, African American Studies, and Non-Western and World Literatures. We are particularly interested in candidates with secondary strengths in one or more of these areas.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a related field by August 1, 2023 and relevant academic preparation and experience in basic writing and composition instruction. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and participate in departmental and university service.

Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
