Position Summary:
TheProductionManagerwill oversee theproductionprocess, coordinating allproductionactivities andoperations. The incumbent will monitor theproductionprocess and adjust schedules as needed. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering andManufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage blow molding, extrusion and packaging teams to efficiently use materials and machinery.
- Oversee a workforce of 75+ employees in theproductionarea (four 12-hour shifts).
- Coach and directproductionsupervisors in effectivelymanagingeach respectiveproductionshift.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and/or company policy and procedures.
- Works alongside the Vice President of Engineering andManufacturingtoo.
- Planproductionto ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinatemanufacturingactivities to ensureproductionof products meets schedules.
- Communicate effectivelyproductiontargets and priorities toproductionsupervisors andmanufacturingsupport teams including quality, maintenance and engineering.
- Act as assistant projectmanagerof all capital projects.
- Maintainproductionand inventory records. Provide weekly/monthly reports as required.
- Monitor and maintain all applicableproductionpermits and ensure that the facility complies with all local, state, federal and company policies.
- Manage employee selection, training, performance evaluation, documentation, salary and termination processes.
- Maintain a positive, proactive labor environment.
- Ability to effectively handle associate relationship situations.
- This is a 24/7 plant operation
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience inmanufacturingoperations
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Excellent projectmanagementskills
- Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations preferred
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group.
- Ability to lead by example.
