The Industrial Cleaning Crew (ICC) associate is a member of the Paint equipment maintenance team working in the Paint production department.
ICC associates participate in specialized procedures for the cleaning and maintenance of the entire paint shop and all production equipment used in the paint department. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in hands-on cleaning of production equipment, has a sense of urgency in the completion of assigned duties, is proactive in seeking out new assignments, and takes pride in their hands-on capabilities, and attention to detail, and appreciates an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: hearing protection, full-face respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, gloves, and other required PPE for long periods of time while adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
- Scraping heavy paint build up with the use of hand tools/power tools
- Removing trash / powder from the paint shop
- Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Wet mopping
- Removing/replacing paint filters in paint under booth, air houses, and other equipment
- Quickly communicating any health/concerns to team leads and management.
- Locking out/tagging out equipment
- General cleaning of the entire paint shop and all production equipment
- Working in Confined Spaces
- Removing of floor grating with paint build up
- Stooping, laying, bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling for long periods of time
- Dust mopping
- Using Ice blasters
- Safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste material
Work environment/Essential physical demands
- Ability to frequently and repetitively bend, lift and reach to install parts of varying size and weight overhead
- Ability to work using bungee- harness
- Entry into confined spaces
- Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to work without under supervising
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to use scissor lift.
- Exposure to hazardous materials used in the painting process
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Ability to frequently and repetitively lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for long periods of time
- Weekend work and overtime required (including potential overnight shifts)
- Ability to frequently and repetitively lift and carry 20 pounds up and down stairs
Job requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or evidence of exceptional ability
- Previous hands-on experience in the cleaning of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
All potential employees will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and pre-employment physical.
