Responsibilities:
We want someone who absolutely LOVES product development and has a passion for creating products that have an intimate connection with our customers. We also want someone who is obsessed with detail and organized with information, communication, and follow-through.
You will roll up your sleeves to research, develop, and test new products, get vendor approvals, and communicating with overseas factories. We also want someone to obsessively manage project communication and details. Simply put, we want someone who wants to harness BOTH their creative and organizational abilities.
- Contribute to all phases of the product development and manufacturing process:
- Product prototype, testing, and component approvals
- Gain a clear understanding of LUXOME product knowledge, product features, and product benefits.
- Keep up to date in industry trends, innovation, and technology.
- Develop and manage daily communication and relationships with existing and potential vendors and manufacturers.
- Sourcing and evaluation of overseas factories
- Maintain vendor database, including contact information, location, and organizational history.
- Work closely with the manager on other tasks and initiatives.
- Support the V.P of Product Development in leading the product creation process from inception to production, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts for products, pricing, and vendor relations.
- Fabric, component, and material selection
- Product research and strategy
- Pricing and supplier negotiations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product database to track product and production lifecycle.
- Technical drawing(s) and specification creation
Requirements:
- Excellent at problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management.
- Extremely detail oriented and organized with information, communication, and exceptional organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
- Hungry, results-driven individual who wants to make an impact from day one.
- Self-directed and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Able to commute to our office in Birmingham, Michigan.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including email writing etiquette.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. and use a stepstool or ladder.
- Passionate about product!
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 1-2 years of experience with a retailer, brand, or product development/sourcing company in sourcing, production, or product development role, preferably in textiles.

Our Process:
1. An email will be sent to candidates letting them know if they are moving forward or not
2. We will schedule a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager
3. An email will be sent letting you know if you will be moving forward
4. The final interview will be in our office and will last approximately two hours. This involves a tour, introductions, a longer meeting with the hiring manager, and 15-20 minute meeting with the CEO.
5. You will receive an email or call letting you know the status of your application
