Job Description

Copeland delivers high impact solutions to the Healthcare and Life Science industries. Pharmaceutical efficacy and potency rely upon being kept at precise, cold temperatures through the supply chain. Our market-leading technologies are used to monitor factors like temperature and humidity, generating real-time data and enabling experts to take fast action when deviations that can impact quality and efficacy are detected. Our team’s primary mission each day is to 1) efficiently keep pharmaceuticals safe, 2) track each step, 3) stay compliant with regulations and 4) make it easy for our customers. We believe if we do these things, and do them well, we will help bring about the future we want to see.

We’re looking for a Product Designer to act as a critical partner within our Product Team to oversee crafting thoughtful, end-to-end experiences that add real value to people’s lives. We're looking for a designer who isn't afraid to jump in and explore new challenges. You have a balance of interaction design, visual design, and product thinking skills. You are customer obsessed and research driven. You’re a natural collaborator and can work independently and in a team environment.

The Product Designer will be the champion of the users’ needs in discovery where we must determine “should we build it?” and “what should we build?”. You will work with cross-functional teams designing experiments to validate or invalidate hypotheses around target customer, problems to solve, severity of those problems and willingness to buy a solution. The objective is to iteratively build and test until the assumptions have been validated, eliminating effort wasted on commercializing products that customers don’t want. And do this in weeks or months, not years.

The Product Designer must be comfortable in both discovery and delivery and have a broad skillset to include experimentation, user research, prototyping, interaction design, visual design and usability. This person is also responsible for driving user experience disciplines into our culture and across the organization.

As a Product Designer, You Will:

  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences (this includes verbiage)
  • Determine how features function within the multiple user touch points
  • Use product analytics to understand behavior, measure progress and prove if ideas work
    • Identify key experience metrics to baseline, monitor and measure
    • Identify areas that improve product KPIs that ladder up to business objectives
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research (with a strong bias to get out of the building)
  • Create and maintain a design pattern / design system library
