Job Description
Are you the type of person that organizes your vintage N64 cartridges by release date? Does your squad hate you because you spend twenty minutes making your loadout perfect? Do you create a meticulous spreadsheet for all your Magic decks? Then this role might be for you…

COLOR wants to find an experienced Producer with one hand in the video production game and the other in the video game…game. COLOR’s nerd-stacked gaming division needs a Producer who’s ranked in shepherding simultaneous, multi-discipline projects (live-action, animation, design, 3D, game capture) from concept to delivery, and won’t break a sweat when managing a small crew and running a video shoot. A passion for games, immersion in gaming culture, and understanding of the games industry is crucial. Otherwise, we won’t be able to debate the influence of Karateka on modern game development…right?

Salary Range: $75,000 - $98,000 per year

What You’ll Do

Project Management

  • Work with the Executive Producer to ensure client goals, expectations, and satisfaction are met
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and to client expectations
  • Effectively manage simultaneous projects of various disciplines, sizes, and budgets
  • Populate and maintain internal and external-facing project management tools and applications – tracking boards, scope of work documents, pitch decks, creative briefs, call sheets, etc
  • Develop project estimates and maintain thorough understanding of where the budget and margin stands throughout the course of each project
  • Facilitate the execution and completion of project deliverables – book resources, consolidate and communicate project feedback and updates, uphold project deadlines and deliveries, and manage project budget
  • Schedule and lead internal meetings, take diligent notes, capture and communicate next steps, and assign action items to internal teams
  • Coordinate, negotiate, and secure rates and contracts for freelance creative resources (designers, editors, animators, etc.)
  • Occasionally manage small crews on live productions, which may require travel
  • Facilitate project management tasks for all assigned projects – info-gathering, distilling client goals for creative teams, creating workback schedules, budgets, and SOWs, and ensuring schedule, deliveries, feedback, and budget stay on track – flagging issues to the Executive Producer early and often
  • Track project milestones and deadlines, chasing leads for reviews when action is needed
  • Coordinate, negotiate, and secure rates and contracts for freelance production labor and resources (talent, crew, equipment, locations, etc.)

Account Management

  • Work with the Executive Producer to negotiate project estimates that meet the client’s needs
  • Drive client communications from project inception to final delivery
  • Schedule and lead client meetings, take diligent notes, and capture and communicate next steps and action items to the client in recap emails
  • Manage client relationships on owned projects, serving as the first line of defense for both client and creative team needs

Requirements

What You Need

  • God-tier project management and communication skills (verbal and written – email tone is important)
  • Legendary client management tact
  • Experience working with and understanding the needs of multi-disciplined, production, creative, technical, and client teams
  • On-set production experience in running a set, managing crews, directing creative, and interviewing talent
  • A positive, proactive, and solutions-based mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Prior experience as a Producer, Associate Producer, or Project Manager in a creative agency or freelance capacity
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in, an understanding of, and passion for the games industry and gaming culture
  • Quick problem-solving skills and the ability to pivot quickly

Not Required, But Bonus Points If You Have

  • Reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with current productivity and communication tools such as Teams, Slack, Monday.com, Frame.io, Zoom
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially Photoshop (i.e. how to open a PSD file and navigate layers)
