Job Description

Position Title: Procurement Specialist


Basic Function:

As the Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of various materials and services, and reporting on overall procurement activities to the manager.


Essential Functions:

• Manage regulations related to chemical substances.

• Determine purchasing quantities based on supply and demand plans.

• Procure raw materials, maintenance services, and equipment in accordance with LG Chem's procurement procedures.

• Handle RFQ (Request For Quotation), TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation), CBE (Commercial Bid Evaluation), and PO (Purchase Order) with price negotiation, and finalize contracts with vendors.

• Identify alternatives for discontinued materials and diversify suppliers.

• Oversee the raw material store room, ensuring high standards of data integrity and cleanliness, and leading continuous improvement for the stores department.

• Manage the storeroom, generate replenishment reports, conduct obsolete parts removal, perform turnover rate analysis, process cycle counting, min/max adjustments, and parts kitting.

• Monitor overall procurement progress, payment transactions, and manage SAP data related to procurement.

• Collaborate closely with Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Care, as well as other corporate functions such as Credit, Procurement, Regulatory, and Legal.

• Participate with other managers in establishing corporate strategic plans and goals.

• Provide regulatory support and service to LG Chem headquarters by reporting spending data, market prices, and progressive management related to procurement work.

• Use SAP system for procurement process, Functional Location Management, storeroom functions, and maintenance planning functions.


Skills/Competencies:

• Ability to accurately follow directions and procedures.

• Capability to work independently.

• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.

• Comfortable with workplace technology such as registers, control systems, scale software, and inventory management software.

• Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.

• Strong foundational knowledge of purchasing and strategic sourcing principles, such as TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), supplier collaboration, design to cost, risk management, price leverage, organizational design, and global sourcing, etc.

• Experience in assessing and driving transformational improvements across purchasing and sourcing organizations.

• Experience in business strategy planning.

• Demonstrated aptitude for analytics.

• Proven record of collaboration in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.

• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree ideally in Engineering field.


Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of global purchasing experience for large organizations, preferably in Automotive, IT/High-tech, Industrial/Consumer Goods, or Retail sector.

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
