Overview

A leading Global Chemical Company is searching for a talented senior procurement professional to join their team and be responsible for ~$150MM of spending, having a clear and direct impact on the businesses’ performance and bottom line.

They are looking for someone with strategic knowledge of purchasing chemicals / energy / feedstock / raw materials.

You will report directly to the Vice President and should have clear contact negotiation experience in this strategic role for this highly prestigious business.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks and mitigate.
• Keep up to date with market and regulatory changes to ensure consistency of supply.
• Negotiate contracts.
• Act as knowledge base for this area of procurement
• Develop relationships external/internal to ensure cost effectiveness and secure supply.
• Reduce risk and cost of contracts.
• Utilize external consultant support where needed.
• Ensure all contracts meet legislative and business requirements.
• Lead negotiations to complete bids in a cost and time efficient way
• Develop strategy for all areas.
• Allocate funding effectively for all ~$150MM spend.
• Develop and manage site strategy for procurement of chemicals, energy, feedstock, and raw materials.
• Improve business performance in this area of procurement.

Requirements

• Clear contract negotiation experience
• Located in, open to relocation to, Greater Chicago
• Experience of procuring raw materials, chemicals, feedstock, and/or energy
• Experience in a refinery/chemical site preferred.
• Ability to report effectively to senior leadership.
• ERP experience
• US Right to Work
• Knowledge of sourcing strategies, risk mitigation, cost savings
