Job Summary:

The Procurement Manger will lead business purchases, inventories, deliveries and spend to ensure they fall within budget guidelines, are cost-efficient and of high-quality while developing and strengthening supplier relations. The Manager will the lead Procurement team by supporting and assisting in daily business activities.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.
  • Supports and leads a safety-first mentality across the business.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
  • Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Manages inventory levels to meet internal and external customer needs while delivering on defined business objectives.
  • Works closely with engineering and marketing on new product launches and changes to existing products and programs.
  • Preparing procurement reports including forecasting models.
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers.
  • Supports the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers to ensure on-going feasibility.
  • Responsible for Inventory Control functions including cycle count program and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

Skills Required:

  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, managerial, and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Education & Experience required:

  • Experience using ERP software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiating terms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • Proven experience managing procurement operations.
