The Contract Manager will provide legal guidance to Ingersoll Rand’s business people on a variety of topics including sales contract review and approval, contract review policy, and contract dispute resolution. This role will interact with the entire legal department (up to and including the General Counsel) to ensure that contracts are reviewed in accordance with company policy and any deviations are properly approved by upper management. Important functions of the role include:


  • Ensure the organization's internal form contract documents are well maintained;
  • Investigate and address contract issues brought to you by the business or customers;
  • Inform internal and external stakeholders of the status of contracts;
  • Review, revise, and negotiate a variety of types of contracts;
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes with respect to contract review and other legal functions; devise plans to implement such changes;
  • Review, revise and update contract policies and related contract management materials;
  • Work with sales and customer care teams to resolve legal disputes with customers.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with internal clients to ensure their legal review needs are met while protecting the company from legal risk;
  • Meet with customers to negotiate and discuss legal terms and conditions;
  • Manage contract review by the sales team in accordance with company policies;
  • Train sales team and other customer facing individuals regarding the company’s contract review policies and procedures;

Job Qualifications


  • Highly motivated individual who functions with confidence and expertise in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment;
  • 2-5 years of experience reviewing legal terms and conditions for sales contracts;
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and Excel; Experience in Oracle a plus;
  • Must be capable of professionally managing confidential information;
  • Exemplify creative problem solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Possess superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines;
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology and contract terms;
