The Operational Excellence Department seeks a Process Excellence Consultant I to provide leadership and support for the stabilizing, standardizing, simplifying and sustaining of Process Excellence across Loyola Medicine .

In this role, the Process Excellence Consultant I will be responsible for providing leadership and support for the stabilizing, standardizing, simplifying, and sustaining of Process Excellence across Loyola medicine. Actively leads and mentors all levels within Loyola Medicine in developing problem solvers to improve the patient care experience, regulatory goals, and all operational metrics such as: patient safety, quality, cycle time, rework, financial stewardship, and employee satisfaction. Provides seasoned and expert guidance to the leaders of Loyola Medicine in the overall strategy, understanding, and deployment of Process Excellence. Fosters and supports ongoing learning and collaboration to develop the internal muscle within organization to redesign care processes so they are cohesively connected. Develops, trains and mentors on process improvement methodologies with a heavy focus on Lean, Change Acceleration, Rapid Process Improvement and Six Sigma . Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions

Position Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS

Assesses situations, evaluates processes and analyzes data to generate and deploy sustainable improvements. Provides a leadership advisory role in problem solving, responding to challenges and potential risk factors and assisting in identifying, understanding and utilizing process improvement methodologies in order to support the advancement of strategic goals and objectives. Responsible for identifying and articulating process improvement opportunities. Provides on-going communication, consulting and analytical support to leaders, managers, and staff relative to new opportunities and other issues . Works and shares collaboratively within the Health Networks and Ministry Organizations to replicate the learning’s faster and expedite the benefits across the Unified Enterprise Ministry. Emphasis will be placed on having five (5) to seven (7) years of previous experience in driving lean transformational efforts that have resulted in sustained, on-going process improvement and culture change. Clinical improvement related work experience highly desirable. Hands-on facilitation: involved in execution, not just planning of projects. Demonstrated proficiency and expertise to identify and articulate process improvement opportunities and provide authoritative consultation .

Strong influencing, collaboration and partnering skills with the credibility to lead change and develop productive working partnerships with leaders, managers, and staff. A true believer in nurturing teamwork, developing others through mentoring and coaching.

PLANNING

Sets a vision, develops a work plan and works collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve results on complex healthcare projects.

COMMUNICATION

Serves as primary liaison and technical knowledge resource to leaders, managers and staff at the Ministry Organizations and Health Networks on complex improvement projects with enterprise-wide scope.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required:

  • 1-3 years of previous job-related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Specify Degree(s): Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Health Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • 6-10 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt- obtained within one year of hire
