Monroe Capital is an asset management firm that currently manages more than $12 billion in capital. The Monroe Capital Private Equity Team is seeking a Private Equity Analyst to join our investment team. You will be joining a fast-growing team with significant dry powder and an active mandate to deploy capital. The position will be based in Chicago, where the firm is headquartered.

As part of the team, the Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the investment process from thematic sector research to investment diligence to working with portfolio company management teams to drive the value creation process. As a small team, we rely on each member of the deal team to play an outsized role and pride ourselves on the broad exposure and opportunities for development and growth available. You will have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in investment decisions, portfolio company strategy and the growth of our team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the pipeline of deal opportunities
  • Provide other critical diligence materials including informative analytics (quantitative and qualitative) and background research
  • Perform financial analyses and build detailed financial and operating models
  • Work with portfolio company management teams and Boards of Directors on various initiatives to drive value and earnings growth
  • Support investments team in sourcing new opportunities
  • Assist in the negotiation of transaction related documents
  • Support a collegial and non-hierarchical senior team
  • Review investment opportunities and prepare memos for the Investment Committee
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or management consultancy, preferably with M&A experience
  • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to work in a flat team environment with dynamic roles
  • Bachelor's degree with a competitive GPA from an academically respected university
  • Strong accounting, finance, modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills supported by a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
