Job Description

Duties:Responsibilities:

The Manager, Privacy will support the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Enterprise-wide Privacy Program:

•Maintains an awareness of applicable federal and state privacy and security laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure company-wide adaptation and compliance

•Partners with legal counsel, business management, key departments, and corporate committees to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, current organizational policies and protocols as well as legal requirements

•Assist in overseeing/monitoring the privacy function for assigned plans/lines of business

•Investigates, monitors and reports on privacy and security incidences and applicable remediation

•Responsible for the drafting and implementation of privacy policies and procedures

•Responsible for addressing and responding to potential conflicts of interest reported by Associates and others subject to AmeriHealth’s Code of Conduct.

The Manager, Privacy must be self-motivated, strategic and be able to successfully operate independently with minimal management oversight as well as effectively manage competing priorities while meeting multiple deliverables that may be subject to frequent change. Must possess excellent drafting skills and exercise appropriate professional judgment in all interactions. Facilitation, collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to build cross-functional partnerships is required.


Skills:

•Good working knowledge of the managed care industry

•Knowledge of compliance and privacy concepts and practices (strategies, internal controls, information analysis, reporting, including trending and communication)

•Strong analytical and research skills, able to synthesize information to provide practical solutions to accomplish meaningful results

•Self-motivated with demonstrated, effective project management skills

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Strong interpersonal skills

•Innovative and creative. Able to embrace change and think outside the box.

•Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

•Strong organizational skills, with the ability to apply good judgment and resolve ambiguities.

•Acts independently and requires minimal supervision.


Education:

•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

•Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in health care compliance/privacy sector

•Certification in privacy or healthcare compliance preferred
