We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Privacy Analyst to join our team!


As part of the Privacy team, the Privacy Analyst contributes to all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to JEFFERSON HEALTH PLANS’s Privacy and Security Program. In addition, working collaboratively under the Manager of Privacy’s direction, this position is responsible for maintaining a working interface within the departments, members, and providers to ensure ongoing Privacy Compliance.


As the Privacy Analyst, your daily duties may include:

  • Works collaboratively with the Information Security team regarding privacy issues related to access control or data loss prevention.
  • Respond to member privacy requests which includes but is not limited to authorizations, access, and removal requests.
  • Monitor the Privacy Official email box and collaborate with Manger of Privacy in reported privacy and security incidents.
  • Develop and report program metrics, e.g., monthly/quarterly BAA Checklist requests, Privacy requests/forms processed to management as required.
  • Assist Manager with upcoming and/or updated laws and regulations related to privacy. Work with manager to configure the impact on the company, identify the changes to be made, work on any educational materials to be developed and any other additional process required.
  • Lead the Business Associate Agreement process. Reviews and responds to Business Associate Agreement Checklist requests; communicates and collaborates with external potential and existing Business Associates and JEFFERSON HEALTH PLANS business owners regarding deliverables and managing agreements, interfacing with business owners, and working relationships for accuracy of the accords. This also requires keeping internal BAA site updated with checklist status and active and terminated BAAs.
  • Able to work in a constant state of alertness in the fast-paced environment while staying organized and providing regular follow-ups to the manager.
  • Actively working on making the processes in Privacy department better by reviewing workflows and brining/discussing ideas with manager.
  • Lead effort on Annual Privacy and Security Compliance attestation process which involves planning, executing, providing weekly status, compiling final report, and following up in accordance with SOP.
  • Participates in Privacy and Information Security team meetings and other departmental meetings as needed.
  • Lead effort on Annual Privacy and Security attestation of existing vendors/business associate; perform ongoing activities to audit and monitor employee and vendor compliance with JEFFERSON HEALTH PLANS’s Privacy policies and procedures, contractual obligations, individual privacy rights, and federal and state privacy and security requirements
  • Consistently and effectively grow professionally by participating in educational opportunities; sharing knowledge with team members.
  • At the direction of Manager, develop training and awareness education and provide compliance or policy-related education and training sessions for employees (in person, over the phone, and e-learning), including the training of business owners as needed
  • Take initiative and assist with developing targeted communication as needed (e.g., Member and Provider newsletter stories and content for the Privacy and Security intranet site to promote privacy.
  • Create, update, and manage department’s standard operational procedures. This involves a well written SOP, approval by manager and updating/saving it on the Privacy internal site.
  • Aid during audits (i.e., NCQA, DHS) and regulatory examinations, and prepare and review responses where necessary.


Qualifications

  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience in healthcare privacy compliance, preferably in a /managed care or health system environment with knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH and other state privacy and security regulation, or applicable compliance and regulatory experience
  • Minimum Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
