The Boeing Company is looking for a Principal Strategist – Commercial Services to join our team in Seattle, WA.

You will be a Principal Strategist in Boeing Global Services (BGS), leading special projects and analysis to inform and/or recommend major business decisions, set strategic priorities, evaluate investment options, and much more. A preferred candidate will have had experience working with or in organization structures to drive value and outcomes through creative solutions with minimal oversight and in ambiguous environments. Technical competencies include a thorough understanding or ability to quickly understand aerospace and technology-related value chains, and aerospace aftermarket. He or she should excel in both strategic thinking and be proficient in project execution, as responsibilities could range from creating business concepts to driving solution development.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Benchmark internal and external organizations to provide recommendations around business transformation opportunities
  • Be able to prioritize opportunities to which to direct company resources
  • Present hypotheses, findings, and recommendations to senior stakeholders in an individual or team capacity
  • Drive outcomes through strategy to action project phasing, and/or articulating learnings to inform business and technical strategies and planning
  • Enable value creation of alternative business models and innovation through strategic partnerships, organic and acquisition opportunities

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. (Three days onsite and two remote)


Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):


  • Experience in project management and advancing projects in ambiguous environments
  • Experience with hypothesis-driven approaches and strategy development, particularly with identifying customer value propositions
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Experience presenting work product to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Strategy or Consulting


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • Experience with current aerospace business models
  • Strong analytic skills with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to develop product, business and services strategies
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • A strong team player, with an extensive network, who has the initiative and ability to embrace leadership roles when opportunities arise
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial aviation aftermarket, preferably in Strategy, Business Development, Program Management and Sales roles


Typical Education/Experience:


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).


Relocation:

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.


Summary pay range: $131,000 - $234,000
