Power Systems Engineer, Biopharma Manufacturing

This is an exciting new opportunity to work within an expanding Biologics Contract Manufacturing Organization with major growth efforts due to new client acquisitions and facility expansion projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the electrical and power infrastructure at the site. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic plan for all power infrastructure systems, ensuring safety, adhering to schedules and budgets, and complying with engineering practices, company policies, regulations, and codes. Your roles and responsibilities will also include:

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide electrical engineering support to the facilities maintenance group, EHS, Process Automation, and project managers.

* Coordinate switching operations and power outages with National Grid to minimize their impact on plant operations.

* Support EHS in audits related to electrical testing and preventive maintenance.

* Identify and plan projects to improve and maintain the electrical infrastructure of the facilities.

* Serve as a subject matter expert during project planning, development, and execution. Provide expertise to internal project managers, architectural and engineering firms, and outside contractors for capital projects.

* Maintain the site's Arc Flash Program in compliance with requirements.

* Provide electrical engineering technical support to Operations during the implementation of new technology in manufacturing and laboratory areas.

* Coordinate projects with site Maintenance, Calibration, Validation, Automation, and Facilities Departments to ensure proper design, construction, and documentation of systems.

* Supervise and execute electrical engineering staff and oversee project planning

Desired Skills & Experience

* Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.

* 8+ years relevant professional experience working within a Manufacturing or highly regulated Healthcare, Hospital, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical environment.

* Knowledge of power systems including medium/high voltage transformers and substations, 5 kv circuit breakers, switchgear and protective relaying; 480 v transformers, circuit breakers and MCC?s and 5 kv and 480 v emergency generators.

* New York State Professional Engineering license is preferred.

* Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent codes.

* Ability to work across organizations boundaries to resolve technical and compliance issues.

* Strong technical understanding of the site's electrical systems, design standards, SOPs, and electrical safeguards.
