We are currently seeking a Post Award Environmental Grants Specialist with 4+ years of experience to join our team and fully embrace our commitment to deliver, grow and thrive.


About the Role:


As a Post Award Environmental Grants Specialist supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to provide post-award grant support for a Federal government client to ensure compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Endangered Species Act, and other environmental regulations. You will work within a team to drive results, lead project planning, create a variety of written materials related to the program, and prepare monitoring support materials and guidance. You are detail-oriented, can tie bigger-picture planning into day-to-day delivery, and enjoy building relationships with others to move a cause forward.


Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Conduct legislative and policy analysis as needed
  • Support strategic program and project management initiatives as directed by the Project Manager
  • Collaborate with a dedicated and diverse consulting team and encourage creative solutions
  • Carry out our Commitments to Deliver, Grow, and Thrive
  • Assist Federal clients with administering post-award activities for nationwide grants programs, supporting program monitoring and technical assistance activities
  • Push and guide team members to hit goals set by the project manager and meet deadlines
  • Provide leadership and instruction for other consultants
  • Develop guidance, processes, policy, and training material
  • Quickly establish, develop, and foster positive rapport with federal government clients in a professional, creative environment
  • Supporting the maintenance of the grant’s administrative records.
  • Spearhead ‘action planning’ and implement new, creative initiatives
  • Continue to craft a personal brand and nurture established and new relationships with stakeholders, supervisors, and team members
  • Identify efficiencies or tools to improve existing or new organizational processes
  • Provide technical assistance to the federal agency and grant applicants
  • Evolve into a subject matter expert and master required skills
  • Create an approachable environment and assist with trainings as necessary for team member development
  • Effectively and independently driving deliverables; ability to get started with little direction and take the lead

You will work as part of a dynamic team remotely.


Required Experience/Skills:


  • Familiarity with standards of climate resiliency
  • Demonstrates an unflappable attitude even when faced with changes or adversity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of NEPA environmental assessment reviews, state historic preservation agency (SHPA) consultation, and tribal consultation
  • US citizenship or permanent resident with the ability to pass a government public-trust clearance or suitability
  • Creative thinker with the ability to translate complex information into manageable pieces
  • Demonstrated experience in grant management lifecycle
  • Previous experience with legislative and policy analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA and NHPA regulations
  • Receptive to all forms of feedback from clients and colleagues, and proactive in making changes
  • Familiarity with and understanding of environmental regulations
  • Experience with environmental sustainability and compliance
  • Skilled in problem-solving with a flexible approach towards stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience providing post-award grant management support


Preferred Experience/Skills


  • Previous experience performing the complete lifecycle of Environmental Assessments, including monitoring of mitigation actions, post issuance of a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
  • Previous experience in consulting, business writing, meeting preparation and facilitation, and/or stakeholder outreach
