Job Summary:
We are seeking a Plant Operations Manager to oversee the manufacturing process and production operations for our small orthopedics manufacturing company. The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring quality standards are met.
Develop and implement production schedules and manage inventory levels.
Optimize plant performance by developing and implementing operational strategies that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Hire, train, and manage production staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure all team members are working together effectively.
Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials and equipment.
Work with other departments, including engineering, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure that all production goals are aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
Monitor plant performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Develop and maintain a positive work environment, promoting employee engagement, motivation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in plant operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing them.
Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of employees.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with medical device manufacturing is preferred, but not required.
