Job Description
Your Opportunity as the Plant Manager, Silo Operations
Location: Silo, New Orleans, LA
Working arrangements: Onsite at Silo facility full time
In this role you will:
  • Improve and standardize systems to deliver results that meet or exceed business targets
  • Overall responsibility for green coffee inbound and outbound shipments, site’s operational, safety, quality assurance and human resource functions
  • Personnel management, including coaching, career development and performance management of managers and key leaders
  • Responsible for developing the Site’s Vision, Master Plan, capital budget, expense budget, and other strategic planning
  • Accountable for Site’s overall results (safety, quality, production, cost, organization & delivery metrics)
  • Responsible for development and advancement of JMS culture across the organization
  • Ensure proper administration and adherence to import regulations for U.S. Customs, Food and Drug Administration and other Government Agencies
  • Manage the relationship and/or performance of the Strategic Contract Supplier (Silocaf of New Orleans), Port of New Orleans, drayage contractors & other local contractors
  • Support the Business Initiatives & Strategic Issues which impact coffee supply operations
  • Responsible for managing the customer-supplier relationships with corporate services, marketing, research and development, engineering and our external suppliers and vendors
  • Site standards maintenance & improvement (appearance, daily management system, etc.)
  • Develop & Implement organization structure/staffing to meet site priorities and goals.
  • Set and reinforce direction for the site, based on Company and Coffee Strategy, Site’s Vision, priorities, and goals
  • Responsible for Shipment Planning and logistics systems for the Green Coffee Supply Chain, which includes inbound transportation, warehousing, drop-lot, and trucking services

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to collaborate and leverage relationships across functional teams to deliver results
  • Demonstrated results in driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and business responsiveness
  • Ability to travel 4-6 times per year
  • Demonstration of a “flow to the work” mentality to meet the changing business needs
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience effectively leading and managing employees and team
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • 7+ years Manufacturing Management experience
  • Capable in analyzing complex data/situations, priority setting and problem solving
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing both managers and staff
