Job Description
Master Meter, Inc. is an industry leader in water-management systems. Based in Mansfield, TX (southern Tarrant County), our plant is largely responsible for assembling, programming, and testing water meters designed for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. This is typically a 2-shift, 5-6 day per week operation.


The Plant Manager position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, in-process quality, shipping/receiving, and other production-related activities.


Representative Duties:


  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor overall plant performance for production, safety, and in-process quality standards.
  • Provide direction, development, and leadership by example.
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make improvements and adjustments to plant facilities and equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with other departmental managers to ensure that plant objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over approved capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Support and help grow the Corporate and Master Meter Quality Control Program.
  • Control and minimize, as appropriate, labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Produce and post agreed metrics for both production and management teams.
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness including 5S.
  • Create an environment for employee safety, continuous improvement, quality awareness, team enrichment, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, in-process quality, shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and other maintenance and capital improvement programs are well-managed, including asset and expense management.
  • Develop processes and procedures to meet agreed plans of safety, quality, profit, and overall budget.


Requirements and Expectations:


  • Strong computer skills. Effectively use standard MS Products including Project, Excel, and Visio. Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and use.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.), Science or Business strongly preferred.
  • Goal and process oriented.
  • At least 8 years’ senior level experience overseeing light-medium durable goods production and support functions.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (primarily to Israel)
  • Solid Business acumen and working knowledge of financial management (for non-financial managers).
  • Strong Leadership skills including the ability to communicate proficiently across a broad range of staff/employees, partners and at times, customers.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under tight deadlines, to problem solve, and to utilize established analytical tools, while meeting production deadlines and budgets.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to identify colors accurately and read small print.
  • Ability to safely walk through busy production/warehouse areas.
  • Ability to use the computer, Microsoft Teams, and the telephone for long periods of time.
  • Ability to periodically lift 20 lbs.
