Job Description
 responsibilities


  • Build, develop, and grow relationships with internal railroad and region customers.
  • Oversight of project support functions.
  • Manage and track IT devices for field-based employees.
  • Complete travel reimbursements for field-based employees.
  • Enforce Genesee & Wyoming’s Safety and Engineering Policies and Procedures.
  • Booking travel (airfare and hotels) for field-based employees.
  • Complete expense reports for travel and field employees.
  • Complete administrative functions for senior managers.
  • Complete other assignments and projects as assigned.
  • Complete invoice processing and approvals.
  • Proactively manage changes in work locations and devise contingency plans based on crew production and scheduling.
  • Review and support weekly payroll processing.

Required Skills And/Or Experience


  • Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management teams, employees, customers, railroads, regulatory agency officials, and the public.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to various project locations within the contiguous United States.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and project management tools.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience Preferred: 4 years related experience in railroad, construction, and/or logistics.
  • Ability to accurately express engineering terminology in written and oral communications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and to handle deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Education and experience required:  Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
