Patient Care:

• Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in CPR; required
• Participates in a variety of healthcare education activities Regulatory:
• Master’s Degree in health-related or science field; required
• Complies with applicable State/Federal/Regulatory Policies/Procedures/Guidelines/Laws Requirements:
• Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); required
• Maintains board certification
• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health care services in accordance with Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure (MSBML), approved protocols, and national standards of practice
• Completes annual CME required programs
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication (written and verbal)skills; required
• Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
• Serves as a resource for community agencies as needed Recordkeeping:
• Provides instruction and counsel regarding medical care matters to patient/family member
• Ensures timely and accurate (as established by policy) documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed Continuing Education:
• Ensures clinical competence by staying abreast of changes in medical management
• Provide care to patients ranging from neonate to geriatric; required
• Promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a Physician
• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans Patient Education:
• Excellent interpersonal skills; required
• Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure as a Physician Assistant; required
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; required
