The Behavioral Health Therapist is a mental health professional who provides group, individual, and family therapies to patients suffering from psychiatric and substance use disorders. He/she will manage case management and discharge planning for patients. He/she will attend treatment teams, create treatment plans and complete psychosocial assessments. He/she will perform individual and family counseling sessions under the supervision of a LCSW. He/she maintains required documentation according to applicable standards. He/she will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Completing daily task such as scheduling, transportation, Utilization reviews, Intake assessments, and discharge planning. Travel to other PHP locations as needed and/or required.

Position Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree required in Social Work.

Experience:

Two years post-graduate in a clinical (or comparable) setting preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

MSW from an accredited school or Virginia Commonwealth licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LMSW preferred.

Licensed Professional Counselor or Ph.D Clinical Psychologist may be considered.
