Personal Care Assistant (Pca)/ Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna)

Hands-On Responsibilities

• Provides personal care to the client entailing assistance with the activities of daily living: personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, bathing, toileting, and ambulating.

• Takes and records vital signs (e.g. pulse, temperature, blood pressure, etc.).

Non Hands-On Responsibilities

• Provides continuous companionship for the client while on duty.

• Assists in meal planning, purchases of foods, and food preparation.

• Washes dishes and cleans the kitchen after meals.

• Assists the client to live in a clean, healthy, and safe environment.

• Observes the client’s general physical, emotional and mental conditions, and reports all changes in condition to Registered Nurse (RN).

• Documents and keeps appropriate records of all service activities while in the client’s home.

• Assists client as needed, excluding medical care.

• Provides medication reminders and supervises the client’s self-administration of the medication(s).

• Maintains strict confidentiality of client, family, and caregiver information.

Minimum Qualifications for our PCA/CNA Team

a. At least 18 years of age or older

b. Current and valid CNA certification

c. License listed on the state registry with no negative findings relating to client abuse or misappropriation of client property

d. Current CPR/First Aide certification card

e. Current negative Tuberculosis (TB) skin test within the last six (6) months

f. National background check free from felonies and/or misdemeanors related to fraud, abuse, theft, neglect or exploitation

g. Work authorization or valid Social Security card

h. State ID card, State driver’s license, or U.S.A. passport

i. State driver’s license has satisfactory DMV driving record

j. Have reliable transportation and current auto liability insurance

l. Possess the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

m. Exhibit good time management and organizational skills

n. Maintain a professional appearance

o. Express a positive attitude and compassion for clients, their family, and other team members on a consistent basis

p. Write in a legible manner (i.e. good penmanship)

q. Continually strive for excellence as a contributing member of the care team.)
