Nursing Assistant Jobs

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Unit Director or designee, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing unit by performing clerical, receptionist, coordination duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Assist professional nursing staff by performing specific patient care tasks, within the scope of practice for Certified Nursing Assistant.

Qualifications:

A. Education:

High School graduate or equivalent.

B. Training and Experience:

1. Listed with Texas Department of Nurse Aid Registry (or acquire within 1 year of hire or transfer from another department).

2. Current BLS.

3. Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire.

4. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer from another department.

• Routine secretarial duties

• Communication skills

• Time management skills

• Maintains office supply par levels

• Basic computer skills

• Entering patient charges

• Kronos TimeCare duties

• Office equipment

• Patient transfers

• Patient transport

• Aseptic technique

• Lab specimens / order entry

• Unit safety

• Body substance isolation

• Role in Code Blue

• Proper surgical attire

• Surgical shave preps

• Supply processing

VI. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

A. Ability to perform:

1. Heavy lifting

2. Sustained standing and walking

B. May encounter exposure to infectious diseases.

C. Ability to work under stress.

D. Varied work hours and shifts.

Location: Medical Center Health System · Day Surgery
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 10:30 - 7:00
